If you would like to learn more about winter bird feeding, save Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 10:00 am. Jan Bergstrom will be covering topics such as bird identification, proper feeding techniques, types and placement of feeds and bird feed.

The class will take place at Lake Maria State Park in Monticello.

Sherburne Wildlife Refuge will be holding family-oriented films free of charge on January 15, 22, and 29 at the Old School House at 7 pm.

The films are:

January 15 “Where Wildlife Comes First”
January 22 “Swallowtail Butterfly”, “Understanding Birds: Nesting”, “Canada Goose Story”, and “Pelicans”
January 29 “Return of the Wood Duck”
