Terrie Soberg graduated from Johnson High School in St. Paul and from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. degree in Speech and Hearing Science. She moved (or “ran away” as Dave puts it) to Tennessee for twenty years, during which time she became the mother of nine children.
In 2007, Dave and Terrie rekindled an old romance and decided to get married. Terrie moved to Hopkins with her four youngest children who all had to acclimate to the cruel, harsh Minnesota winters. Dave soon found that a bigger house would be necessary to store Terrie’s children, household belongings, books, craft items, and foam! They searched high and low for the perfect place and finally found it in Orrock Township, where they moved in April 2008.
Moving to Minnesota did bring one large drawback–Terrie had to leave behind all of the clients from her videography, web design and internet marketing business, Digital Teardrops. Since she works with offline, brick and mortar businesses and shows them how to be more profitable by using the internet in their marketing plans, she needs to be able to meet with her clients face-to-face. Starting a business once is a lot of work, but to start over again in a crazy economy can be even harder. She got the creative juices flowing–how could she combine moving to a new area, meeting new people, and showing people her work all together in one project? Sherburne Area Information and Blog was the answer!
The best way to meet the community is to be actively involved!
